Cuba, the largest of the Caribbean islands, incorporates
a fascinating blend of colonial history with a diverse combination
of Latin American, Spanish and African cultures. Spotless white sandy
beaches, coconut palms and an underwater world that is home to five
hundred species of fish and fifty different coral types surround
this exciting island. Cuba and the surrounding islands have a sub
tropical climate, which is influenced by balmy northeast trade winds.

coral barrier reef in the world
Cayo Largo is in the South
Central region of the Cuban Archipelago, one of the last virgin
spots left on the planet. Beaches and more beaches in its 17 miles
(27 Km) of length.
The bottom scenery is incredible around the coral reef that links the chain of
islets around Cayo Largo like an underwater bridge. .
Scuba diving on Cayo Largo is particularly attractive around the protected and
unaltered coral reef that expands for more than 19Mi (30Km). Its incredibly transparent
waters have attracted several underwater photography competitions, thanks to
the marine life, the multi-colored underwater seascape and corals.
ISLA DE LA JUVENTUD
The
Isle of Youth is one of the most picturesque sites in Cuba,
specially for those who are fond of natural beauties, because
more than a half of is territory virgin, with a host of
endemic species.
On its Southern coast, surrounded by the most pure Caribbean
Sea, there are coral reefs of incredible beauty.
MARIA LA GORDA
This region has been declared Reserve of the Biosphere due to the treasures
of its flora and fauna and for its sea and terrestrial landscapes.
Within the limits of the Reserve, known as Peninsula de Guanabacabibes,
we can find a wide stripe of white sands surrounded by the Caribbean
Sea, with rich and extensive coastal forest areas forming a beautiful
beach, Maria La Gorda.
Maria La Gorda is 304 km (190 miles) from Havana.
Maria La Gorda diving zone, in the Ensenada de Corrientes, is one of the most
protected areas in Cuba with an amazing coral reef development, located at a
very short distance from the coast.
